How-to Tune up a Lawn Mower

Spring has arrived in Fort Wayne bringing with it warmer temperatures and the start of green grass! And, with all of the rain in the forecast for the week, our grass is going to start growing before you know it.

Now is a great time to get your lawn mower tuned-up and in top shape before the Spring mowing season arrives.

Crescent Avenue’s Master Certified Technician walks you through how to tune-up your walk-behind lawn mower.

10 Spring maintenance tips:

1. Replace spark plugs
2. Change oil
3. Change or clean air filter
4. Inspect lawn mower for broken parts
5. Lubricate wheels & cables
6. Sharpen and balance the blades, or replace if worn
7. Check and tighten screws and nuts
8. Always start with fresh fuel (less than 1 month old)
9. Charge battery on electric start mowers
10. Check or change the self-propel belt
